Self-Determination Movement: We oppose the formation of a community on an ethnic basis

Representatives of the Self-Determination Movement pointed out today, at a meeting with the representative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation for Kosovo and North Macedonia, Rene Schlee that Self-Determination was against the establishment of a community as well as any other agreement on an ethnic basis.

As Self-Determination Movement announced on Facebook, organizational secretary Alim Rama and secretary for international relations Hajrulla Ceku had met with Schlee at the party's headquarters.

They also said that Kosovo had one of the best systems in the world for the protection of the rights of non-majority communities, within legal and constitutional frameworks.

"We invite the Foundation to conduct a comparative study on respect for the rights of communities in Kosovo and other countries, including Serbia," representatives of the Self-Determination Movement said.

During this meeting, the good cooperation between the Self-Determination Movement and the Foundation over the years was evaluated. Cooperation coordination for 2023 was agreed upon, with a special emphasis on strengthening organizational capacities, public policy, and local self-government.

"Cooperation between Self-Determination and the Social Democratic Party of Germany will be one of the main goals during this year in the context of increasing coordination with the Social Democratic family in the EU and the world,” the party said.

Otherwise, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation will present its proposal for the Statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities today.
