Self-Determination published location and design of two future bridges over the Ibar

The Self-Determination Movement has published an image on social media showing the planned appearance of two new bridges over the Ibar River, whose construction has been announced, and which will connect the southern and northern parts of Mitrovica.

“This project will facilitate the movement of citizens and serve as infrastructure for communication, integration, and development between the two parts of the city,” the Self-Determination Movement said in a statement.

As illustrated in the image, the two new bridges would be located in the immediate vicinity of the main bridge over the Ibar, which is currently secured by KFOR soldiers and is open only to pedestrians.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed by Infrastructure Minister Liburn Aliu and North Mitrovica Mayor Erden Atiq. The event was also attended by Minister of Local Government Elbert Krasniqi and Deputy Minister Hysen Durmishi.
