The Serb List: CSM is an institution necessary for the survival of the Serbs, not anyone's whim

The Serb List delegation attended today the debate on the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, its formation, competences, functioning and challenges when it came to this topic, which had been held at the US Embassy in Pristina.

As stated in the announcement of the Serb List, the representatives of the party, which were the legitimate representative of the Serbs, had reiterated the clear position that the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities was an obligation of Pristina, which had taken it over in the form of an international agreement and then had ratified it in its parliament with a two-thirds majority.

At the meeting, the Serb List pointed out that the CSM "is an institution needed for the survival of the Serbs, not anyone's whim," the statement added.

"It was clearly emphasized that the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities had to be carried out as agreed in Brussels in 2013 and 2015 and that only the Management Team is the one competent to draft the Statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, and not anyone else," the Serb List emphasized.

As they add, it is especially underlined that it was necessary for the Community to have executive powers, i.e. exactly as agreed in Brussels during the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina.

"It was also underlined that its establishment was an obligation that should not be avoided because it needed to be an umbrella institution of the Serbs that would protect the individual and collective rights of our people. It was attended by all Serbian participants, both representatives of political parties, and representatives of the NGO sector expressed a clear position on the need to form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, which once again confirmed that this was the request of the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, but also more than clearly presented that Albin Kurti was telling the lie when he said that the Serbs did not want the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities," the Serb List said.
