The Serb List with Escobar: Urgent actions needed to prevent the exodus of Serbs, whose human rights are being violated in Kosovo
Representatives of the Serb List, led by President Prof. Dr. Zlatan Elek, met today in Pristina with the Special Representative of the United States for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, and the US Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier.
The meeting discussed the issues facing the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, with a special emphasis on the unilateral actions of the government in Pristina that endanger the survival of the Serbs.
The representatives of the Serb List emphasized the need for urgent and decisive action to prevent the exodus of the Serbs from Kosovo, whose fundamental human rights are threatened by the decisions of the Kosovo institutions.
"The decision to ban the dinar and suspend payment transactions 25 years after the conflict, the militarization of municipalities with a Serb majority, the prohibition of trade with central Serbia, the forcible imposition of mayors without legitimacy in municipal buildings in the north, as well as the institutional persecution of the Serbs and confiscation of property of our citizens, and the jeopardizing of the functioning and survival of the Serbian Orthodox Church in these areas, require a strong, vigorous, and urgent response from the democratic world to prevent the expulsion of Serbs from their ancestral homes," representatives of the Serb List emphasized, as stated in the press release.
