Escobar is coming to Pristina; with the Kosovo authorities on dialogue and the abolition of the dinar
Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs and Special Representative for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar will be visiting Belgium, Kosovo, Austria, and Montenegro from March 10th to 18th, and during his visit to Pristina, as announced by the State Department, he will discuss the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo to abolish the dinar with the Kosovo government representatives.
As announced by the State Department, during his stay in Belgium, Special Representative Escobar will meet with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, and other European Union and NATO officials to discuss efforts to advance reforms that will bring lasting peace, stability, and prosperity to the Western Balkans region.
In Kosovo, he will meet with the Kosovo government leaders, civil society, and the Kosovo Serb communities to underscore the United States' continued strong support for the EU-facilitated Dialogue on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
"The Special Representative will conduct meetings on the impact of the new Central Bank of Kosovo regulations on cash operations and urge steps to ensure that the needs of Kosovan citizens are met fully and without interruption," the statement said.
