The Serb List: Kurti's regime unlawfully seizes funds from citizens in the north, and degrades the Brussels Agreement
The Serb List stated that, by the decision of the regime of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to unlawfully seize funds from citizens and municipalities in the north from the Development Fund, the Brussels agreements negotiated in the previous period were blatantly denied and degraded, and that these agreements must be protected by the European Union, which had been the guarantor of the agreements reached.
"In light of the above, today we sent a letter to the representatives of the Quint countries and the EU Special Representative in Pristina with a clear demand to urgently stop this illegal, unlawful decision of Kurti's regime, which not only does not respect its obligations from the Brussels negotiations but does everything to nullify the agreements that resulted from the negotiations", the Serb List said.
They reminded that the agreement had guaranteed that all funds collected from the import of goods intended for the four municipalities in the north, at the crossings of Jarinje and Brnjak, would be used for the development of these municipalities and infrastructure projects that would improve the quality of life for citizens.
"This decision is absolutely contrary to the purpose of this fund and the valid agreement", the statement from the Serb List said.
It is added that the agreement also defined that the money from the fund is used after a unanimous decision of the three-member body consisting of one representative from Pristina, the European Union, and the Serbs.
"The mentioned body has not met or made such a decision, and its execution would represent a classic theft of money from the citizens of North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavic, and Zubin Potok", the Serb List stated.
They have called for an urgent reaction from international representatives, primarily the EU.
"Based on all of the above, we demand an urgent reaction from international representatives, primarily the European Union, to prevent robbery and the seizure of money from our citizens. The silence of international representatives in the event of the execution of this decision would send a terribly wrong message to all our citizens, implying their complicity in this robbery and banditry of the regime in Pristina", the Serb List concluded.
