Serb List: We will participate in the elections on February 9 and win all 10 seats
The Serb List announced that it will participate in the elections on February 9 and is confident that it will win all ten seats allocated for the Serbian people, thereby preserving the unity and solidarity of the Serbian community in the region.
The party stated that international representatives in Kosovo remain silent following the shameful incident in the Kosovo parliament, where the Speaker prevented members of this political party from participating in parliamentary proceedings. This, they claim, demonstrates the height of hypocrisy and inconsistency, as those same representatives had insisted in all meetings with the Serb List on their participation in elections and institutional activities.
"One day after the shameful incident and the violation of laws, human, and political rights of our people, rights guaranteed by international regulations, committed by the Speaker of Parliament, who prevented Serb List MPs from participating in the Assembly, international representatives in Kosovo and Metohija continue to remain silent. These are the same representatives who, in all their meetings with the leadership of the Serb List, urged us to participate in elections and institutional activities. Their silence, as the Speaker expelled democratically elected representatives of the Serbian people from parliament, exposes their hypocrisy and inconsistency," the Serb List stated.
The announcement emphasizes that the Serb List representatives are the only ones advocating for the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo and are, therefore, a thorn in the side of Albin Kurti’s regime, as well as international representatives.
“They have consistently opposed a strong Serb List and the unity of the Serbian people because a strong Serb List is a bulwark of defense for the Serbian people. Instead, they desire a weak, divided, and intimidated Serbian community. They would prefer obedient Serbs in institutions rather than strong representatives who protect our interests and refuse to follow the orders of Kurti and foreign representatives,” the statement added.
The party emphasizes that this is yet another reason to participate in the elections.
“This is why we see even greater justification for the Serb List to participate in the elections on February 9. We take this opportunity to inform the public that the Serb List, stronger than ever, will participate in the elections. We will win all ten seats allocated to the Serbian people, preserve the unity and solidarity of the Serbian people in this region, and ensure that our community demonstrates in the elections who they trust and who they want as their representatives,” the Serb List concluded.
