Petkovic: Kurti would like to abolish the Serb List and the Serbian people in Kosovo, but he will not succeed
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said that by today's prevention of Serb List deputies from attending the session of the Kosovo Assembly, Albin Kurti has unequivocally shown that the Serb List is a "thorn in his side" because it protects the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo.
Petkovic stated in a statement that Belgrade and Serb List deputies have repeatedly clearly indicated that Kurti wants to install Serbs suitable for him in the parliamentary seats reserved for Serbian deputies, and not those who are true fighters for the rights of the Serbian people.
"Once again, President Aleksandar Vucic has proven to be right when he said that Kurti's plan is to eliminate the Serb List by all means and that this is why Pristina's propaganda machinery has been launched in connection with the Ibar-Lepenac canal. When Kurti failed to do that, he decided to physically prohibit the Serb List MPs from defending their mandates at the session,” Petkovic pointed out.
He reminded that the Serb List MPs were elected by the votes of the Serbian people, who gave them seats and legitimacy, and therefore Kurti cannot take away their mandates or prohibit them.
“It is clear that Kurti would like to abolish both the Serb List and the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija so that he can complete his policy of a greater Albania and a province in which there are no Serbs or Serbs, but he will not succeed,” said Petkovic.
He added that this is “a reflection of Kurti’s ‘democracy’ and ‘rule of law’” which he implements with violence, fists, weapons, terror and repression, which he has shown to the entire world today.
