The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested that representatives of the international community, including those in Kosovo, urgently protect the Serbian people from the terror imposed by the Pristina authorities led by Albin Kurti.

"The raid by heavily armed members of Kurti's special police into institutions on which the physical survival of Serbs in the four municipalities in northern Kosovo depends is the pinnacle of anti-Serbian, anti-civilizational, and anti-European policies of Pristina and represents a dangerous step toward a large-scale escalation," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in its statement.

It pointed out that those present in Kosovo based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 are responsible for the security of all citizens, and therefore, they must not be silent observers of the terror Kurti is implementing, as it destroys any chance for a compromise and peaceful resolution of the issues in the southern Serbian province.

"Belgrade consistently calls for peace and dialogue, while Pristina, having not been adequately sanctioned so far for its persistent undermining of dialogue and violence against the Serbian people, is doing everything to change the situation on the ground to such an extent that any dialogue becomes futile," the Ministry stated.

They also noted that it is the last moment to prevent Kurti from igniting new conflicts in the Western Balkans and completing his plan of ethnic cleansing, which, as stated, has resulted in the displacement of 15% of Serbs from Kosovo over the past year and a half, a fact also acknowledged by the International Crisis Group.

"Instead of Kurti's violence and arbitrariness, we urgently need a reaffirmation and revitalization of dialogue, as Pristina's policies do not contribute to peace and present severe and dangerous challenges to all responsible actors in the international community. It is clearly a prelude to a humanitarian catastrophe and a very serious destabilization of the region," the statement concluded.
