The Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia has strongly condemned what it called the "barbaric raid" by Kosovo police units on the premises of the Red Cross of Kosovo and Metohija in Zubin Potok, stating that it represents yet another attempt to violently usurp Serbian institutions and intimidate the Serbian population in northern Kosovo.

“The normal operation of the Red Cross of Kosovo and Metohija, as an internationally recognized institution, is of vital importance for the Serbian people in the province. This organization provides essential services in assisting vulnerable families, protecting public health, and organizing voluntary blood donation campaigns for hospitals in North Mitrovica, Gracanica, and Pasjane. Any attempt to obstruct the work of the Red Cross is therefore a direct blow to the safety and survival of Serbian families in the province,” the Ministry stated.

The Ministry emphasized that the growing number of repressive and unlawful actions against Serbian social, humanitarian, and healthcare institutions in Kosovo indicates a clear genocidal intent by Kurti’s regime, which, they argue, is taking every possible step to deprive Serbs in the province of basic living resources and force them to leave.

“Given the unbearable situation created for the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija due to the ongoing pressure from the Pristina authorities, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs strongly calls on representatives of the international community—particularly UN and EU missions—to act in accordance with their mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and to take effective measures to protect the rights and security of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. The Ministry’s competent departments will continue to monitor the situation and, within their legal authority, provide the necessary support to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the Red Cross of Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement concluded.
