SL: Rasic’s hypocrisy — He never spoke out against anti-Serb actions, now he attacks us
Following a call by the leader of the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival, Nenad Rasic, urging the Serb List to “take responsibility” and “actively” engage in drafting “joint proposals” regarding the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Vehicles, the Serb List says his behavior is hypocritical. They note that he has never raised his voice against the anti-Serb actions of the Pristina regime, and is now attacking the Serb List, which has been fighting for months to resolve the problems caused by the implementation of these harmful laws.
“With regard to Nenad Rasic’s statement on the application of the Law on Foreigners and the decision on vehicles, the Serb List considers it necessary to clearly point out to the public the hypocrisy and political insincerity of a man who for years, without any legitimacy or support from the Serbian people, has participated in Albin Kurti’s government and voted for all measures directly aimed against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement reads.
They add that Rasic has never spoken out against numerous anti-Serb moves by the Pristina regime—from the closure of Serbian institutions, through institutional violence, to the arrests and persecution of Serbs.
“On the contrary, throughout that time he played the role of a political mascot, a silent observer and an obedient follower of a government that systematically undermines the rights of the Serbian people,” the statement adds.
Today, they note, Rasic is attempting to criticize the Serb List, which, as they say, has for months been seriously and responsibly working to resolve problems arising from the implementation of harmful laws, including the Law on Foreigners and decisions on vehicles.
The Serb List recalls that it has held dozens of meetings on these issues with representatives of the international community and that, precisely thanks to these efforts and with the support of international partners, it succeeded in securing a postponement of the application of the law until concrete and sustainable solutions are found.
They also add that, at the initiative of the Serb List, international representatives decided to form a special expert team to address this problem, which clearly demonstrates who is genuinely and consistently fighting for the interests of the Serbian people.
“Through his behavior, Nenad Rasic has once again shown that he is not interested in Serbs or their problems. As a man who, with Albanian votes, stole a mandate from the Serbian people and a ministerial post, he was and remains nothing more than an obedient servant of Albin Kurti’s regime. The Serb List does not want and will not have any contact with such a person, because that would amount to a betrayal of the 43,000 Serbs who, despite all pressures and the campaign of Rasic’s mentor, cast their vote for the Serb List,” the statement says.
The party states that it remains consistent in protecting the interests of the Serbian people and will not allow “those who ignored and betrayed them for years to now pretend to be their defenders.”
“We have not forgotten that Rasic supported the seizure of Serbian land in Leposavic and Zubin Potok, did not oppose labeling Serbs as genocidal, and never helped a single family whose members were unjustly imprisoned. As such, he will never be worthy of dialogue with the Serb List,” the statement concludes.
