Stano: The management team must exist until the CSM Statute is adopted

The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, pointed out that the agreements reached within the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia clearly stated that the Management Team must function until the Statute of the Community of Serbian Municipalities was adopted.

Stano assessed for Kallxo that the decision to dissolve the Management Team "violates the letter and spirit of the agreement from the dialogue".

He indicated that any decision regarding the Management Team must be approved within the EU-mediated dialogue.

"That has not been an issue yet. The first statute was presented by the Management Team on May 2 at a high-level meeting, which started the negotiation process on the matter. Therefore, the decision to dissolve the Management Team violates the letter and spirit of the dialogue agreement. Any decision regarding the Management team must be approved within the EU-mediated dialogue," Stano emphasized.

He said that the EU, as a mediator, would invite the main negotiators to Brussels to start discussions on the statute and that the Management Team would be invited to participate in the process, if necessary.

"We expect both parties to engage in the process, constructively and in good faith, and to quickly end the negotiations. On May 2 Josep Borrell told the parties that the Management Team would be invited to participate in the process if necessary, which would be determined by the EU", Stano underlined.
