State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense of Serbia, Nemanja Starovic, commented on the arrest of Serb Srecko Sofronijevic from Zvecan, stating that it is a strange way to say that someone is guilty for stopping a bullet aimed at a child, and that survivors in Kosovo are being arrested while perpetrators remain free.

He reminded that Srecko Sofronijevic was shot in the back by "Albanian thugs of the special police" on October 23, 2021, in northern Kosovo.

"Doctors miraculously saved him after the bullet pierced his lungs. No one has ever been held accountable for this heinous crime, and no serious investigation has been conducted. Today, two and a half years later, in a Kafkaesque plot twist, the same Kosovo police arrested Sofronijevic on charges of 'overthrowing the constitutional order'?! Strange way to say that he is guilty of protecting a child from a bullet with his back... And yes, let Kosovo join the Council of Europe and complete this farce," Starovic wrote on the "X" platform.
