Starovic: Kurti showed his extremist face; the EU should clearly name the party that hinders the dialogue

State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense, Nemanja Starovic, pointed out that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had shown "his true face as an extremist" by threatening the Serbs and the Serb List, and that was ready to sacrifice peace in order to achieve his maximalist goal, which was a Kosovo without a single Serb in it.
"Furthermore, the very fact that Kurti made such a threatening, warmongering statement in front of the EEAS building proves that he is making a mockery of the EU," Starovic wrote on the "X" social network.
He reminded that Kurti had made a statement that "the Serbs will suffer and pay" after a round of dialogue that had been unsuccessful, because, as the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said, Kurti had rejected the EU's proposal.
He emphasized that in this way Kurti had directly threatened the Serbs.
"The EU must act quickly and effectively, to show everyone that threats and violence are unacceptable. Again appealing to 'both sides' to refrain from threats and violence would further undermine the credibility of the EU. If ever there was a time to name a party that with unilateral measures, threats, and the use of force, is hindering the dialogue process, that is now," Starovic said.
As he added, in order to be properly and seriously understood, statements of this kind had to be accompanied by strong measures, much different from the mild and toothless diplomatic sanctions that the EU had imposed on Kurti so far.
"If the EU wants to regain its credibility, prove its authority, and save what is left of the process of normalization of Belgrade and Pristina, that is the only sustainable course of action," Starovic says.
