The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that he was very concerned about the statement of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Brussels, that the Serbs and the Serb List should suffer and pay, as well as the silence of the international community, adding that the terrifying echoes of those words could only get their true meaning in the future, although he hoped that the Serbs would manage to avoid it.

"I was worried by Albin Kurti's statement, which nobody seemed to notice... If I had said that, I would have been hanging in Brussels, Berlin, and Washington. It shows all the hypocrisy, and it is not new. If I had said that, the Albanians should pay and suffer, you can imagine what the answer would be," Vucic told reporters in Nis.

He stated that Kurti was playing "strange games" and that no one was clear about what he was doing, but it was clear that he was avoiding the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.

"His statement was met with enormous indignation by the Serbs. You saw his revenge last night in Gracanica and he will continue to retaliate against the Serbs," Vucic said.

He said, however, that the Serbs were getting stronger, more united in resistance, political, democratic, and any other, and that Serbia would continue to support the Serbs in Kosovo in such conditions.

"The terrifying echoes of those words of his will get their true meaning in the future, or I hope we will manage to avoid it. But also the silence of the international community, of everyone in the world to such statements..." Vucic said.

He added that it had been clear to him from the beginning that Kurti had not wanted any agreement by which he would have to form the CSM, before the recognition of Kosovo.

"There are always people who will criticize me, but people don't have to worry that we are too serious for any decision that harms the interests of our people," the President of Serbia emphasized.
