Minister for European Integration Nemanja Starovic strongly condemned what he called a shameless tirade by Albin Kurti, accusing the acting Kosovo Prime Minister of using fabricated threats to justify daily repression of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.

“The shameless tirade of the acting *Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in which he tries to justify the daily harassment of the Serbian people—denying them basic human, political, and economic rights—by invoking some imagined threat from central Serbia and, as per the usual cliché, from Russia,” Starovic wrote on social media platform X.

He called for the immediate release of Igor Popovic, Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, who was placed in 30-day detention yesterday by a court in Pristina and transferred to a detention unit in Gnjilane.

“Igor Popovic must be released immediately and unconditionally, and the long-overdue de-escalation measures must be urgently implemented to restore peace and stability,” Starovic stated.
