Journalist and former diplomat Donat Syla stated that April 26 is the last day for the constitution of the parliament, and that if it does not happen by then, President Vjosa Osmani has the right to send Kosovo to early elections.

He wrote on Facebook that President Osmani’s indirect response to the letter from the presiding chair of the session, Avni Dehari, was not accidental.

“It is no coincidence that the Presidency immediately responded to the letter from the oldest MP, Avni Dehari, and explicitly stated during the day that the next session must be held no later than 48 hours after the interrupted session. According to the Constitution of Kosovo, the Presidency has the right, the mandate, and the legal and constitutional obligation to dissolve this Assembly and announce extraordinary elections, which must be held within 45 days. Delays in electing the Speaker of the Assembly can continue indefinitely, but for the constitution of the Assembly, the final day is April 26,” Syla stated.
