Trajkovic: Post Office robbery in Ugljare a pressure for Serbs to leave

Aleksandar Trajkovic, President of the Interim Administration for Kosovo Polje based in Ugljare, states that the devastation and robbery of the Serbian Post Office branch in Ugljare have instilled fear among the Serbian population, adding that these are not pressures to ban the dinar but to force the Serbian people to leave.

"Last night around 3:20, unknown individuals came and broke into the post office, smashed it, knocked down a wall, and took the cash intended for pensioners and other residents of the Kosovo Polje municipality. The post office serves around 5,000 residents of this municipality. The cash register was taken. No one heard anything in such a difficult moment for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. It's a psychological blow, believe me, which the population can no longer endure," Trajkovic told Kosovo Online.

He added that people could not comprehend that the dinar would no longer be in use.

"It is difficult, people can't withstand the psychological pressure that the dinar will no longer be the currency in these areas. We cannot understand that this could happen. And how will, not only pensioners, but also those receiving social assistance, other social benefits, child allowance, and maternity allowance, receive them, where will they go, what will they do? These are not pressures for the dinar to disappear, but pressures for the population to leave," Trajkovic said.
