Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Homes of returnees robbed in Istok municipality; attacks are a clear message from Albanian extremists
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija has stated that yesterday in the village of Ljubozda, municipality of Istok, the houses of returnees Marinko Blagojevic and Tomislav Radivojevic had been robbed, indicating that the wave of violence against Serbian returnee families in Kosovo continued.
"Just a few days ago, during the Christmas holidays in this small village, two more houses belonging to Zarko Zaric and Radomir Ristic were broken into, and since the beginning of this year, the home of Miodrag Kostic from Plemetina has also been targeted," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija reminded in its statement.
As mentioned, such frequent attacks on the peaceful Serbian population who simply want to live in their homes, especially on returnees, who are the most vulnerable category of the population, send a clear message from Albanian extremists that they do not want to build peaceful coexistence and are doing everything to intimidate and expel Serbs.
It is added that politicians in Pristina do not show a willingness to sanction incidents; on the contrary, in their statements, they target Serbs and generate violence on the ground, with every move they make serving to make the life and survival of Serbs in Kosovo impossible.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija persistently points out to representatives of international organizations operating in Kosovo the vulnerability of the Serbian community in that area, especially the difficult situation of returnees.
"We will continue to advocate more intensively for lasting peace and the safe lives of our people in Kosovo and Metohija," the statement concluded.
