“Trepca South”: Property clearance action will continue until its full recovery
The company “Trepca South” announced today that an operation has begun to demolish all structures and garages built without legal basis on parcel no. 02537-1 in North Mitrovica, with the aim of clearing the property.
“Based on on-site inspections, this area includes more than 20 garages and structures located along the road, owned by Trepca A.D. and unlawfully occupied. Following the expiration of the given deadline and the failure to comply with the notice of 13 February 2026, Trepca A.D. announces that it has begun an operation to clear the property, including the demolition of all structures and garages built without legal basis on parcel no. 02537-1,” the company said in a Facebook post.
The company also stated that this measure is being undertaken after a 48-hour deadline was given for the voluntary vacating of the premises, as well as after a prior notice that allowed the parties to submit any possible agreements for consideration.
“The property clearance operation is being carried out with institutional support and will continue until the property is fully returned under the management of Trepca A.D.,” the statement added.
The owners of these garages are Serbs, and their demolition was not approved by the municipal inspectorate of North Mitrovica.
The Municipality of North Mitrovica stated that it was neither officially informed nor consulted on this matter, and that the police assisting in the demolition are acting as an executive authority in this case. At the same time, it called on the international community to urgently react and prevent a precedent in which the municipality’s basic powers are arbitrarily taken away.
