The Embassy of the United States in Pristina stated that the Self-Determination’s attempts to block the certification of the Serb List for participation in the 28 December elections are shortsighted and divisive.

In a post on the social network X, the US Embassy said that such actions undermine Kosovo’s stability and US interests, including the restarting of the strategic dialogue.

“Self-Determination’s attempts to block the certification of the Serb List for participation in Kosovo’s elections are shortsighted and divisive. All Kosovo citizens should be able to exercise their democratic rights. Such actions undermine Kosovo’s stability and US interests, including restarting our strategic dialogue to advance opportunities for US and Kosovo businesses,” the post stressed.

At its meeting yesterday, the Central Election Commission did not certify the Serb List for participation in the elections, which prompted reactions from the EU Office in Kosovo, the OSCE, the Embassy of Italy, as well as the British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves.
