The State Department announced that the United States was disappointed with yesterday’s outcome of the dialogue in Brussels and that they had invited Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to work with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell and the EU Special Envoy for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak on a fair compromise, the State Department said in the response to Kosovo Online when asked how they viewed the current events in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

"We call on Prime Minister Kurti to work with EU High Representative Borrell and EU Special Representative Lajcak in order to reach a fair compromise. Both Prime Minister Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will have to make concessions in order not to jeopardize decades of hard-won peace, in an already fragile region. We join the EU calls on Kosovo to immediately suspend all planned measures that would escalate tensions, including the imposition of fines on vehicles," the State Department's response to Kosovo Online stated.

As said in the statement, both parties should refrain from taking provocative steps, fulfill their obligations within the dialogue led by the EU, and constructively engage in achieving a sustainable solution.
