Attorney Dejan A. Vasic has confirmed to Kosovo Online that he had submitted a request today at the Government's office in Pristina, asking Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti to appear before the Special Prosecutor's Office as a defense witness for the accused Dragisa Milenkovic from Gracanica.

"I've filed the request at the Government's office and attached it to the application for the witness testimony before the Special Prosecutor's Office," Vasic stated. As he added, he anticipates a positive response in the coming days, along with the scheduling of a hearing date.

During the time Dragica Milenkovic worked at the district prison in Pristina, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was a detainee. According to the lawyer's statements, Kurti is expected to testify about the credibility of the accused and his conduct.

Dragisa Milenkovic was arrested on June 21 in Kisnica, and the next day he was placed in custody for 30 days, which was later extended for an additional two months. Kosovo authorities have charged him with alleged war crimes against the civilian population during the period of 1998 to 1999.

Due to the arrest of Dragisa Milenkovic, there were protests for days in front of the police station in Gracanica.
