Vasic: The Prosecution approved that Kurti be heard as a witness in the Milenkovic case
Lawyer Dejan Vasic told Kosovo Online that the Special Prosecutor's Office was willing and had approved that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti be heard as a witness in the case of the arrested Dragisa Milenkovic from Kisnica near Gracanica.
"Today, I submitted a new request, considering that the previous one was not answered by the Prime Minister, and with which I informed him that his testimony was approved. I submitted a request asking him to give his testimony related to that period before the Special Prosecutor's Office when he was a political detainee in the District Prison in Pristina," Vasic said.
He added that he expected the answer to the request from the potential witness, Albin Kurti, to be delivered very soon.
"I don't think there is any reason why this testimony should not take place," Vasic said.
Vasic previously announced that he would request Kurti to be a witness in the case of Milenkovic because Kurti had been detained in a prison in Pristina at the time when Milenkovic had worked in that prison.
"For his part, he should say a few words about the credibility of the suspect and his behavior towards the current Prime Minister, and the then detainee Albin Kurti, whom he kept company while he was in the cell, brought him books to read, with whom he spent a lot of time in conversations," Vasic said earlier for our portal.
Dragisa Milenkovic was arrested on June 21 in Kisnica and is charged with an alleged war crime against the civilian population in the period from 1998 to 1999. Because of the arrest of Milenkovic, there were protests in Gracanica in front of the police station for days.
