Von der Leyen: It is important for Kosovo to de-escalate tensions

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who met today with Kosovo’s President and acting Prime Minister, Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti, stated that the European Union remains committed to a future in which all six Western Balkan partners are part of the Union. She emphasized that it is therefore important for Kosovo to continue building strong institutions and to de-escalate tensions.
Von der Leyen also stressed that Kosovo should finalize the necessary steps to benefit from the Growth Plan.

For this, it is important that Kosovo keeps building strong institutions, and de-escalate tensions in the country. Also, Kosovo should finalize the steps needed to benefit from the Growth Plan,” von der Leyen stated on the platform X.
