The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that there was a very clear and dedicated plan for the de-escalation of the situation in Kosovo, which was a map of the path that both sides had worked on earlier this year, RTV reports.
Ahead of the second day of the NATO summit in Vilnius, von der Leyen emphasized that it was evident that both Belgrade and Pristina must respect what had been agreed upon in Ohrid.
"I call on both sides to de-escalate and adhere to the roadmap. This is absolutely crucial for us to move forward in a peaceful manner," von der Leyen said when asked by Tanjug about the situation in northern Kosovo and whether the EU will be more actively engaged and influence Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to accept the EU plan for de-escalating the situation.
