Vucevic: Attack on Raskovic part of ongoing pressure on Serbs, KFOR must protect citizens

Serbian President’s Adviser on Regional Affairs Milos Vucevic assessed that the attack on Nenad Raskovic in the village of Dren near Zubin Potok was not an isolated incident, but rather part of what he described as a continuous policy of pressure and violence against Serbs in Kosovo.

Speaking to RTS, Vucevic criticized KFOR's decision to reduce its presence at the most sensitive locations and stressed that Serbia must use diplomatic means to defend the interests of Serbs.

Vucevic said he viewed the attack on Raskovic as part of a policy whose aim, as he put it, was to create an atmosphere in which Serbs cannot live and remain in Kosovo.

He assessed that KFOR's decision to reduce its presence at the most sensitive locations comes at a time when Albin Kurti, he claimed, is intensifying pressure on Serbs.

“Serbia must fight through diplomatic means,” Vucevic said, stressing that Belgrade should wage an open diplomatic and political struggle for Serbs in Kosovo, alongside continued economic and social support.

“This certainly does not mean conflict or war with NATO, because that would be a catastrophe for all of Serbia and the entire Serbian people, as well as for all the citizens of Serbia,” Vucevic said.

He recalled that, under the Kumanovo Agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1244, KFOR is responsible for the security of citizens in Kosovo.

He said that everyone representing Serbia, including government ministers during meetings with their counterparts from other countries, must speak about the situation in Kosovo.
