Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic stated that he did not expect the citizens' initiative for the dismissal of the mayors in the four municipalities in northern Kosovo to be successful, but for the gradual ethnic cleansing to continue.
In an interview for Euronews scheduled to air tonight at 8:00 PM, Vucevic said that he did not expect extraordinary elections in northern Kosovo or the establishment of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities but, as he said, that gradual ethnic cleansing would continue. He rejects the claim that this initiative implies accepting the rules set by Albin Kurti.
"No, we were looking at what is the lesser evil for the Serbs. For us, the greater evil is for the Albanian mayors to remain. There aren't many brilliant choices there, and one should not be hypocritical by saying - you are accepting Kurti's laws. People there have to survive. We have to choose less bad solutions for ourselves. There are no good solutions there", Vucevic said.
