Vucevic: The situation in Kosovo is flammable

Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic stated that the atmosphere in Kosovo was so flammable and tense that one match was enough to set everything on fire and move in an unwanted direction, B92 reports.

"That shouldn't surprise us because Pristina is always taking a series of moves aimed at destabilizing the situation, and not a single concluded agreement has been adopted. Plus, it's a clear message to the Serbs that they are unwelcome, and that shouldn't be sugarcoated," Vucevic said, guesting in the morning program of TV Prva.

According to him, Pristina's institutions' clear goal is to cleanse Kosovo of the few remaining Serbs.

"It is very difficult to control the situation, people are stressed. This pogrom has been going on for a long time, making every dialogue meaningless," Vucevic added.

He says it is easy to speak from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, or Kragujevac, but the Serbian people in Kosovo live Kurti's terror every day.

"It is not easy to explain to the Serbian community in the north of Kosovo how important it is to remain calm and not fall for provocations, and on the other hand, not to be humiliated and completely disenfranchised," the Minister added, as reported by Novosti.

Vucevic says that the ultimate goal of all Albin Kurti's goals is to frighten and expel the Serbs.

"Yesterday, they went with the story that they were occupying municipal election commissions, finding explosive materials. That was nonsense, the only thing that exploded were their weapons. They were sneaking through some windows, throwing out administrative staff. We have not yet seen anyone send special forces to conquer the premises of the municipal election commission in the hope of holding elections," Vucevic said.

As he states, "we always listen to calls for dialogue and normalization from the international community, but it is difficult to normalize someone who is not inclined to normal behavior." He reminded that at the military display in Nikinci, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he expected such moves by Pristina.

"I could not have guessed that it would happen so quickly, and in just 24 hours we saw a new adventure and the implementation of state terror and lawlessness. We will certainly be under pressure, and we will see how their international patrons will react to postponing the elections on December 18. As per the current situation, the Serb List will not participate in them. I cannot rule out whether they will find three Serbs by name and surname, as they found the unfortunate Rasic and Trajkovic. And you know how many people will vote for them. Well, no one," Vucevic said.
