Vucic: According to Resolution 1244, the obligation of the KFOR commander is to accept our request

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, explained that formally and legally, based on UN Resolution 1244, the request for the return of the Serbian security forces is submitted to the KFOR commander, because that mission is responsible for security in Kosovo.

In the second instance, as he told RTS, if such a decision is made, the request can be submitted to the UN Security Council.

"The KFOR commander is obliged to make a positive decision, but of course he will make a negative decision. Resolution 1244 leaves him no other option. He cannot formally answer negatively; he can only say that the conditions have not been met. The words are very clear about his obligations, what he can and cannot do," Vucic explained.

He said that he had very frank and open conversations with the US envoy, Gabriel Escobar, and that he told him what he thought about his statement regarding the return of Serbian forces to Kosovo.

"It could be the Albanian contingent of KFOR in Kosovo and Metohija. You can send Albanian soldiers to Serbian villages, to Velika Hoca. We are not a member of NATO, but we are in the Partnership for Peace. There is something above membership in NATO, and that is the UN Charter, Resolution 1244. Why don't you trust us?" said the President of Serbia.

Vucic pointed out that it was normal for them to send and watch how they mixes different wine types Grasac and Smederevka with Vranac and Prokupac, spill so much wine of the Serbian host, the Petrovic family,  and that the Albanian contingent of KFOR should be the guarantor of all this.

"What is the problem with someone else being there in accordance with international legal norms?" So we are not very good partners. You want a weak Serbia, which will not ask for anything, and you humiliate us by sending the Albanian contingent of KFOR to mix and spill wine," he pointed out.

He said that he did not ask the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said that it would be surreal, anything about the request to send Serbian forces to Kosovo, saying that they have their own attitude towards Kosovo.

"It was surreal for me to watch the Albanian contingent participating in monitoring the mistreatment of a Serbian family. We have to build the best relations with Albania, but the priority is to protect the Serbian people. Everything I say publicly, I say much more harshly to the representatives of the international community," he added.

Vucic said that he noticed today how Croatia, Finland, Estonia, Germany talked about a wonderful day regarding Kosovo's request for EU membership.

"And here you are talking about territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the UN Charter. How grotesque it sounds," Vucic stated.

In connection with the announced arrival of the EU envoy to Belgrade, he said that the visit could be moved in twenty days, that there is no confirmation for that, but that it is not a pleasant conversation for us anyway.

Regarding the Franco-German proposal, he said that the fact that it was supported by 27 EU countries makes it difficult.

"Of course, this complicates the situation, because to those who do not recognize Kosovo, they make up that it is not about recognition, and it suits them to believe it. No one will really panic because of Serbia anywhere," the Serbian president said.

He pointed out that you could not bring any plan to the main protagonist without discussing it.

"There is always something to talk about. There is one thing we have made clear, and that is UN membership. Everything else, let's see, let's discuss, what the Serbs get, Serbia, everyone, but the recognition of Kosovo and Metohija and membership in the UN is out of the question," he underlined.

At the same time, he said that there would be a lot of hybrid action in the coming period, as there were against others in Europe.

He emphasized that he was asking for the formation of the CSM first, and only then he would be ready to talk about something else.

At the same time, he said that he did not believe that Pristina would ever form the CSM.

"They will look for ways to blame the Serbs for some riots, such as the story about the stunt grenade," Vucic said.

He added that representatives of Western countries told him that there was no Albanian government whuch will accept the CSM.

"I answer them - what do I care? Did you sign it? We negotiated for it, hard," Vucic said.

He adds that when Pristina forms the CSM, there will be Serbs in the institutions in Kosovo.
