Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today, during a meeting with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot, that Serbia remains committed to dialogue and peace and will be a pillar for France and the European Union, ready to contribute to stability, security, and development.

After the meeting, Vucic attended the signing of a Joint Statement on the Belgrade metro project and a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of a wastewater collection sewer for the city of Belgrade.

“An open discussion with Jean-Noel Barrot on issues important for Serbia–France relations and our country’s European path. We discussed the construction of the metro, the development of artificial intelligence following the purchase of a supercomputer, and cooperation in the fields of nuclear energy and the defense industry. One of the topics was also the wastewater treatment project in Belgrade,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

He added that he clearly pointed out Serbia’s commitment to pursuing an independent and responsible policy based on the protection of its state and national interests, while at the same time expressing readiness to strengthen cooperation with France as one of Serbia’s most important partners in Europe.

“I emphasized that our country remains committed to dialogue and peace and will be a pillar for France and the European Union, ready to contribute to stability, security, and development,” Vucic concluded.
