Vucic on elections in Kosovo: Awaiting results, Kurti did not fare as expected

Commenting on the situation in Kosovo following the parliamentary elections, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that any assessment must wait for the final results but noted that Albin Kurti "certainly did not perform as he expected."

While visiting booths at the Tourism Fair in Belgrade, Vucic was asked by journalists about the situation in Kosovo, given opposition claims that Kurti would not be able to form a government. He responded that no one could be trusted until the final results were in.

"You can't trust anyone. They still haven’t finished counting the votes; it’s already been 11 days... I’ll wait another 11 days, hopefully, they’ll finish counting. Once the votes are counted, I’ll be able to comment. We’ll see," Vucic said.

He added that Kurti "certainly did not fare as he expected."

Vucic also visited the booth of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, where he inquired about the situation regarding Rajska Banja (Paradise Spa). The director of the Office, Petar Petkovic, informed him that Pristina had confiscated the property.

"Everything has been taken from us, but we will fight..." Petkovic added.

When asked about Kosovo’s tourism offerings, Vucic remarked that it was currently difficult for people there to operate.

"It’s hard for them to work now. I didn’t ask about Rajska Banja by accident... It will be ours again," Vucic said.

During his visit to the booth, representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija presented President Vucic with a handmade gift from the sisterhood of Brnjak Monastery.
