Vucic with Giaufret: EU one of the largest investors in projects that changed the face of Serbia

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, today received the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, on a farewell visit. Vucic conveyed that the country particularly values its cooperation with the EU, which is Serbia’s largest foreign trade partner and one of the largest investors.

“A warm and friendly meeting with Ambassador Giaufret and an excellent opportunity to summarize the results of our cooperation so far, which during his mandate has further contributed to strengthening relations between Serbia and the EU. We also exchanged views on other important topics relevant to the partnership with the Union in many areas of mutual interest,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

He said that a special part of the conversation was dedicated to the implementation of projects outlined in the EU’s Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, as well as joint energy and infrastructure projects, in which the EU has proven to be a reliable and good partner for Serbia.

“I reiterated that we particularly value cooperation with the EU, which is our country’s largest foreign trade partner and one of the largest investors in projects that changed the face of Serbia and improved the quality of life for our citizens. We recalled both the difficult and rewarding moments when we worked step by step on reforms and initiatives that brought great benefits to our people, especially in the areas of energy, environmental protection, and infrastructure connectivity with the EU,” President Vucic stated.

He added that he is especially grateful to Ambassador Giaufret for his personal commitment to strengthening cooperation with Serbia, as well as for the friendship he has shown toward the country.

“I wished him much success in his future professional endeavors and invited him to visit Serbia again as a dear and respected guest,” Vucic added.
