Vucic: Great pressure - the essence is for Serbia to recognize Kosovo, but for Pristina not to do anything

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that Serbia was under great pressure regarding Kosovo and that the essence of all these pressures was that Serbia recognized Kosovo, but that Pristina fulfilled nothing.

After the session of the Serbian Progressive Party Presidency, Vucic told the journalists that the main topic had been the gravity of the political situation Serbia was facing and all the pressures it was exposed to, especially those concerning Kosovo.

"It is clear and unambiguous, based on Petar Petkovic's report, as well as what I said, that there is a 'de facto' plan by which they are trying to tell Serbia and the Serbs that some have fulfilled all their obligations, by listening to the presentation on the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities but that the essence of the plan is for us to recognize them, without them doing anything," Vucic said.

He added that the Serbian Progressive Party had provided full support for decisions that always concerned reaching a compromise, but also safeguarding national and state interests, at any cost.

Vucic added that they had also discussed the economic situation in the country and that the government had been asked to take a more intensive and stronger approach to reforms in public companies and a bolder approach to further attracting foreign direct investments.

He also stated that at the Serbian Progressive Party Assembly, on May 27 in Kragujevac, 4,000 delegates would elect the new leadership of the party.
