Vucic: Kosovo is the biggest concern, it will not be an easy debate and talks in the UN

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said tonight that his biggest concern was Kosovo and Metohija and pointed out that it was important for him that after the failed round of dialogue in Brussels, Serbia did not turn out to be the culprit.

Vucic said for TV Pink that he pointed out to the international representative that if he had said something like Albin Kurti - that the Serbs and the Serb List should suffer and pay - he would have been in all the world's media, while Kurti's statement did not appear anywhere nor will it.

"This is because everything is allowed to the Albanians, they fundamentally support them. Kurti would not have said that if he had not been supported," said Vucic.

He points out that it is important for him that Belgrade managed not to be blamed for the failed round of dialogue, as well as the fact that several guys were released from custody, stating that he is fighting for those who are still in custody.

"My biggest fear is exactly that and the attempt to impose guilt on the Serbs. This is the goal of everyone in the region only because the Serbs want to be free," said Vucic, adding that the persecution of Serbs in Montenegro is currently to which the US envoy Gabriel Escobar has, as the president states, a hypocritical attitude.

He states that he hopes to see Escobar in New York to tell him to his face what he thinks about what he says are his tricks about foreign governments.

"I am going to New York now, I will be there for the next five days. I will fight for Serbia," said President Vucic.

He has drawn attention to the fact that in the next month there will be very important talks for Serbia, and above all, not an easy debate and talks in the United Nations.

"The biggest concern is related to Kosovo and Metohija. I hope that things across the Drina will calm down," said Vucic.

When asked if it is possible for the President of Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, to be arrested, he replied that he did not believe it was possible, but that he was afraid that there were such ideas.

As he says, the international community has recognized that Dodik is right about two demands regarding the Dayton Agreement.

"Then they told me that he was right, but that time should pass, a year passed, there were new demands, but no one was talking about those demands," he said.

He adds that he hopes that the Serbs will be able to overcome it, but that no one can expect "that we will remain silent as Pavelic's henchmen".

"We won't", he emphasizes and adds that they can find some Serbs who are for Kurti, even in the center of Belgrade, that they are Serbs, but that they do not represent the Serbian people.

As he says, the international community does not understand that he enjoys the respect of citizens because he decisively and openly protects the interests of his country.

"When I do that, I make it clear that this country will be led by the one elected by the people, and my message in Nis was that while I am the president, a foreigner will not lead the country," said Vucic.

When asked if the dialogue was deadlocked after the last round of dialogue, President Vucic emphasized that he expected the West to invent some new pressure on Serbia.

"It always goes that way, I'm just waiting for what new thing they will come up with. They basically agree with everything that Albin Kurti does, and this with CSM is a 'must do it' because it was signed 10 years ago and we insist on it and we won't go without it, and Kurti won't accept it and they don't know how to get out of it. But they will come up with something that we are to blame, I just don't know what, and I have to warn you about that," Vucic said.

He pointed out that on the day of the negotiations in Brussels, September 14, both Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak spoke honestly and said who was to blame, but that the very next day the EU's rhetoric changed and both sides were blamed for the failure.

"The next day - both sides, both sides, both sides... That expert Stano called, this one from Germany, this one from America - both sides, both sides. Escobar came to explain to us that foreign governments must not have influence in Montenegro, except for his own, which can have absolute influence, and other foreign governments cannot", said Vucic.

When asked if the international envoys criticized him for responding harshly, Vucic says that they have no reason to because, as he says, he did not bomb America, but they bombed Serbia.

"Listen, if they get angry, then let them tell me something else... I don't care, I still have three and a half, four years of mandate and I will do the best I can for my people, I will fight for my people so as not to endanger them any way," said Vucic.

When asked to comment on whether, as stated by the opposition parties, Ambassador Hill interferes in the elections in Serbia and determines when they will be held, Vucic pointed out that no one could influence how and when the government would be formed in Serbia.

"What will we do if the elections are in December, January, what will they say then? If they are, let's say. They will then say we lied about it. Hill can ban them or not. Of course he (Hill) denied it, because it is impossible to imagine that someone would come to me and say that elections should be held then or here or there. That's how it is in serious countries," said Vucic.

He assesses that the opposition talks on the basis of a personal example.

"You know how it was in their time. They were picked up by Misko and another businessman and Cameron Manter, and they called one of the DS and SPS and said - the government will be like this, you will form it like this, you will go to this place, you you will go to that place, you have so much time to form the government", said Vucic.

He expressed satisfaction that no one can influence him in such a way, nor determine who will be in the government and when the elections will be held.

"It is part of the sovereignty and freedom of this country. It is part of the independence of this country. That is why Serbia today has films about Jasenovac and is building memorial centers. That is why Serbia today is not ashamed of its name and surname, and that is why Serbia today has the courage and strength to help to our people and to all citizens. We have no problem, we are the same people and the Bosniaks who live in Pazar, and also in Sarajevo. Only a strong Serbia can do that," Vucic said.

However, he also stated that he would meet the part of the opposition that asked for elections to be called by the end of the year, and that the elections would probably be held on March 4, on his birthday.

"Since they don't know how to write it, they are not literate enough for it, they said they wanted elections sometime on March 4, before my birthday, to congratulate me on my victory once again, so they wrote that they should be announced by the end of the year," said the president.

He adds that he knows that they thought they wanted the elections to be held by the end of the year and that he would also consider that and reminded that they were against the elections for four months, and then changed their decision overnight.

"We will announce them on March 4 or a week before," the president added.
