Vucic: The KSF is transforming into an army that should not exist according to Resolution 1244
Pristina has the fastest-growing budget for the army and police, which are not allowed to exist according to international law and Resolution 1244. The so-called KSF is transforming in line with the US plan and is expected to reach 5,500 with a possible reserve of 20,000, prompting consideration of introducing mandatory military service, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic said, during his visit to the Operational Command Center of the Military Intelligence Agency.
The President of Serbia stated that UN Security Council Resolution 1244 did not envision the existence of any armed Albanian groups in Kosovo, despite that, Pristina, with the assistance of the United States, was building its own army.
"It is important to note that Article 9 of Resolution 1244 envisions the demilitarization of the KLA and other armed groups of Kosovo Albanians. According to the Resolution, there should be no armed groups of Albanians, and yet they have created an army. And they continue to build it", Vucic told reporters.
He noted that Serbia was not strong enough to change their stance, but it could show the world that the truth, like a pebble in the shoe, at least irritated them, that they brutally violated international legal norms.
"They are not interested in that. And when they say they are interested, they lie. They are not interested, and they will not be interested. They are only interested in their own interests and nothing more", Vucic stated.
He added that it was not comforting that, besides people in Serbia who knew this, an increasing number of people around the world were also becoming aware of it.
"But, the truth cannot be avoided", Vucic said.
He emphasized that Pristina's sole aim was to eradicate every trace of Serbia from Kosovo.
"The destruction of the international public order through the further arming of the so-called KSF, which is not only announced in the US Congress but is happening almost daily through the involvement of multiple countries, primarily Turkey, and other NATO countries, aims to, contrary to Resolution 1244 and the UN Charter, completely erase every trace of Serbia's existence from the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, including the removal of the Serbs", Vucic emphasized.
He added that individual statements from Kosovo officials support this.
"When you boast that every police patrol will have long guns, you send a crystal clear message that there is no place for the Serbs there", Vucic said.
Pristina, as he says, had the fastest-growing budget for the army and police, which, he repeats, should not exist.
"In the last four years, it has increased by more than two times for both the so-called army and the police", Vucic stated.
He added that the KSF was being transformed according to the plan and under the guidance of the United States, aiming to reach a strength of 5,500 members, with the possible creation of a reserve force of 20,000 soldiers.
For this reason, he said, Pristina was considering the introduction of mandatory military service.
He emphasized that these armed forces, by 2027, besides light firearms, should be equipped with over 350 combat armored vehicles, helicopters with anti-tank guided missiles, mortars, howitzers, anti-aircraft systems, reconnaissance tactical combat aircraft, and so-called "killer drones" or "kamikaze drones".
"They are being heavily equipped by the United States, Turkey, and Germany. Donations from Germany are mainly realized in terms of transport and non-combat vehicles, such as 'Land Rover', 'Wolf', 'Mercedes', and small arms. From the United States, large quantities of combat vehicles such as 'Humvee' and 'Guardian', and smaller quantities of armored vehicles like 'Bastion' and reconnaissance drones RH 20 Puma have been delivered. The acquisition of a significant number of Javelin systems has been announced, and there are allegedly considerations for the purchase of unknown quantities of smart anti-tank mines N93 Hornet", Vucic noted.
We will always be strong enough to be a deterrent factor
Vucic said that the Serbian Army had plans and programs that it was implementing, and not much had changed after the news about the procurement of new weapons for Pristina, except in a political sense.
"We understand well everything that is happening, not only in Pristina but in the region and the world. We consider all the facts, observe the political developments, and understand whose interests are at play in breaking Serbia. And in line with that, we make decisions, within our capabilities", Vucic said.
He pointed out that Serbia's capabilities were small compared to great powers like Turkey, the United States, and others who, he said, cared about illegal Albanian structures.
"Of course, we cannot oppose them in terms of money or weapons, but being strong enough to be a deterrent factor for everyone is a responsible and serious approach", the President of Serbia added.
To those advising against investing in the military, he conveyed that Serbia would not exist without its army.
"I know this very well. And I know how important it is for the military to be strong, and ours is ten times stronger than it was ten years ago", Vucic stated.
Increased activity of various intelligence services on the territory of Serbia
Vucic stated that there was increased presence and activity of various intelligence services and other foreign agencies on the territory of Serbia because Serbia did not want to be anyone's minion or subject.
In response to a question about the arrest of a Serbian citizen, D.R., on suspicion of spying on the Albanian intelligence service SHISH, Vucic said he had received a somewhat broader report than those appearing in the media, and that the Serbian Security Intelligence Agency was doing its job in that case.
"There is increased presence and activity of various intelligence services and other foreign agencies on the territory of Serbia, for understandable reasons. Serbia does not fit into the molds of obedience and subordination because it is a free, libertarian, and independent country that makes decisions in line with the interests of its citizens, not with external dictates", the President of Serbia stated.
On Minister of Police Xhelal Svecla's statement about long guns: The unveiled goal of Pristina is to harass and expel the Serbs from Kosovo
Vucic stated that the words of the Kosovo Minister of Police Xhelal Svecla, saying that all patrols will have long guns to ensure security in northern Kosovo, are ordinary. According to Vucic, the real goal of Pristina is to expel the Serbs.
"Nothing unusual. Their unveiled goal is the expulsion, harassment, and persecution of the Serbs. They will continue with that, not only under the patronage and protection of a part of the international community but also with support", Vucic emphasized.
In this context, he also noted that the rifles for the Kosovo Police had come from Croatia, i.e., from the EU and NATO, while their "Javelin" missiles come from the United States, and "Cobras", "Acres", and other weapons from Turkey.
He points out that the hypocrisy of the international community is laughable, as they try every day to explain to Serbia that Kosovo is under pressure, sanctions and that cooperation with Pristina is lacking.
"And, in the most brutal way, they show us how they laugh in our faces and how they can do whatever they want and desire... The problem is that they do all this illegally, in a criminal manner, contrary to international legal norms and the UN Charter", Vucic said.
He added that he was aware that what he was saying was not good for him as the President of Serbia because it could provoke anger among internal political factors that would seek support from outside to return to power, however, he was not concerned about that.
"I am the president for another three years, and I will perform my duty in accordance with the interests of the citizens of Serbia, not those of other countries", Vucic said.
