The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that the statement of Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti that "the border of Serbia and Kosovo has become the border of NATO and Russia" was another of the desperate political messages with which Kurti was trying to present himself as a victim, and said that Serbia had its own borders, established by international law.

When asked how he commented on Kurti's statement to the Vienna daily “Press”, Vucic said that he had not known that Kosovo had joined NATO.

"Serbia has its borders, neither Russian nor NATO borders, but its own, established by the UN Charter and Resolution 1244. So - say whatever and however you want, try to put us somewhere where we are not, and put yourself where you are not. We have our own country, which we are proud of, Serbia. You don't determine borders, but international public law," Vucic said.

He pointed out that this was another of the desperate political messages in which Kurti tried to present himself as a victim or the new Zelenskyy, and him (Vucic) as a little Putin.

"I'm not worried; I've listened to nonsense for almost a year, as much as you want. It is mine to lead Serbia, as an independent, sovereign, free and libertarian country, and I am proud that we are doing it," Vucic said.

When asked whether, after the conversation with the senior advisor of the State Department, Derek Chollet, he was more optimistic or less pessimistic about the pressure on Serbia, Vucic said that he was a man who was realistic, and who was not an optimist.

"I don't know what kind of fairy tales I would tell... It's a difficult situation for us, almost all major powers have recognized the independence of Kosovo. Don't expect anything sugarcoated to come. I had a fair, open, and meaningful conversation with Chollet. He showed respect for Serbia, as we have for him. We differ on the issue of Kosovo," Vucic explained.

In response to Edward Joseph's statement that "Vucic deceived NATO, the EU, but also the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija", Vucic, with the ironic statement that "he is a magician", stated that he had been wrong to mention that man at all, as the president of Serbia.

"He's on the hunt because he's scared and he's not sure if I know what he thinks I know about him. And, what I may know, I don't think to bring it to the public. I wish him all the best, I know what is for the public and what is not", Vucic said and added that Jozef "has done a lot of interesting things in this region".
