President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has highlighted that Albin Kurti is doing everything to destroy the Serb List and the Serbian people.

Speaking to RTS, Vucic stated that the Serbian government has been daily informing the international community about the events in Kosovo related to the elections, and that the international community has reacted in a quality manner.

"Kurti has only one essential adversary, and that is the Serb List. All conspiracy theories have fallen. Everything Kurti has done, he has done to destroy the Serb List and the Serbian people. This is a trend in the region. You will see, they will blame the 'Church of Serbia' for events in Montenegro, while they prepare separatist tendencies in Vojvodina, for everything, as they say. It's the same in Pristina - the Serb List, the Serbian people, the Serbian Orthodox Church, and of course Aleksandar Vucic are to blame," explained Vucic.

In this, he added, they will always have the support of Zagreb.

"The Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija know, and I believe that by participating in the elections, the Serb List will be able to fight for either nine or all ten mandates of the Serbian people, which will significantly complicate Kurti's position in the upcoming period and further help the Serbian people to survive on their ancestral lands," he emphasized.

Vucic said that Kurti's remarks about students protesting in Serbia only show who bothers him and others in the region and whom they would like to see in power in Serbia.

He criticized certain media in Serbia for not reporting what Kurti said about the students, even though they report daily what he says about him.

"Even if I were a dictator and a psychopath, when Kurti says that, then it's a special compliment. Then our people know how much I fight for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. It speaks of his desires, it speaks of who bothers them in Serbia, and it speaks of whom he would like to see. It's the same in Zagreb, the same in parts of Sarajevo, the same in parts of Podgorica. But this is something that, it seems to me, the majority of people in Serbia know," he stated.

Asked whether the new American administration will deal with Kosovo, Vucic expressed the expectation that future Secretary of State Marco Rubio will primarily focus on China and Latin America.

"He will deal with the whole world, but the focus will be on China and Latin America. He will also deal with Europe, where you will mostly have a negative attitude towards Germany. Elon Musk is involved in this," he said.

He expressed the opinion that Richard Grenell would deal more with this part of the Balkans than anyone else.

"Grenell will deal with Venezuela, North Korea, but also many other issues," added Vucic.

We Expect the "Paper" on Sanctions Against NIS on January 10 or 13, But There Will Be No Crisis

Regarding the sanctions against NIS, Vucic expressed confidence that the document on this would be received on January 10 or 13, stating that there are only two unknowns for the Serbian side – whether the sanctions will relate to the complete Russian ownership or the majority share package in the company, and what the timelines are.

"But there will be no cans, no canisters, or anything. There will be no shortages. Even if we are not able to import oil, and we are, we have enough diesel and gasoline for 85 days. There will be no crisis," Vucic assured.

He added that Serbia imports crude oil via Omisalj in Croatia, then mostly processes it at the Pancevo Refinery. If there are sanctions, it is also a question of whether imports from Croatia will continue, but since Serbia has a valid contract with Croatia, it remains to be discussed, Vucic noted.

Asked if Serbia has the money to possibly buy out the Russian stake in NIS, he answered affirmatively.

"We have the money, if it came to that. We are trying to avoid it, but even if it happened, we would not sell it; we would buy it. And we have the money to pay it out," Vucic said, adding that in that case, the effect of the sanctions is unclear, as it would immediately make a large amount of money available to the Russian side.

In this regard, when asked whom the sanctions are then introduced against – Serbia or Russia, Vucic noted that he cannot say that the American administration wants to punish Serbia, but they want to turn the country in another direction.

He added that he does not expect major problems for the Serbian economy in case of sanctions against NIS.

Serbia One of the Safest Countries in the World

Vucic has stated that Serbia is one of the safest countries in the world.

Regarding the tragedy in Cetinje, and in connection with the action already organized in Serbia in 2023, following two mass killings, Vucic said that about 100,000 pieces of weapons were confiscated at the time, which certainly saved many lives.

"I believe that was an exceptional action, but that is why it is important to tighten control, to check everything, because by doing so we save lives. First, check security interesting faces, because those who are already on the other side of the law will use weapons more easily. To tighten the possibility of legally obtaining weapons," listed President Vucic.

He pointed out that the number of murders in the country on an annual level is three or four times lower than 20 years ago.
