Vucic: Two major countries will withdraw recognition of Kosovo
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated today that he expects two major countries, larger than Serbia, to withdraw their recognition of Kosovo in the near future.
Speaking about the situation in Kosovo prior to 2012, Vucic said on Pink TV that 28 countries have already withdrawn their recognition so far.
“We expect two more countries to withdraw recognition in the coming period. These are not small countries but major ones, larger than ours,” President Vucic said.
He added that there is significant nervousness in Kosovo regarding the return of Donald Trump to power in the United States.
Vucic also mentioned that he expects the new US administration to implement structural changes in its policy of supporting “real and fake” non-governmental organizations.
He hopes for this, and, as he said, it can save the world in the future.
Regarding the interruption of Russian gas supplies through Ukraine, Vucic pointed out that this would create significant problems for Slovakia and, in the long term, Austria.
“Austria has sufficient reserves and is prepared, but it will be extremely difficult for Slovakia. While we cannot easily assist our friends, if they can access gas via the Balkan Stream, we will be a reliable transit country for our Slovakian friends,” the President emphasized.
He noted that Serbia would also be in trouble if it hadn’t taken timely measures and completed the necessary infrastructure.
“Imagine if we hadn’t done that, people would be freezing today,” Vucic remarked.
He announced that he would have a phone call tonight at 7 PM with American interlocutors to discuss energy issues, including one topic related to NIS company.
Speaking on other geopolitical matters, Vucic stated that further bloodshed between two fraternal Slavic nations is senseless and that the Ukraine-Russia conflict must be resolved.
Ready to help Montenegro
Vucic expressed his condolences to the people of Montenegro regarding the tragedy in Cetinje, where 12 people were killed.
“Last night, I spoke on the phone with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, and Prime Minister Milojko Spajic. I hope Montenegro will be able to find solutions and a way forward. I sincerely wish them success in that effort. We have offered every type of assistance,” President Vucic added.
