Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared today that Serbia, as long as he holds office, will not recognize Kosovo and will maintain its military neutrality.

Commenting on the "non-paper" published by Slobodna Bosna, which proposes that a conference for Balkan countries be held in spring or by autumn 2025, during which Serbia and Kosovo would commit to mutual recognition and pursue a joint NATO membership candidacy with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vucic stated, "It's not just that they're lying, but they also stack the deck."

"As long as I am President of Serbia, Serbia will not recognize Kosovo's independence. As long as I am President, Serbia will remain militarily neutral. And I will be the President of Serbia for at least another two years and several months. During that time, those global conferences and other miracles—let them hang them on a cat’s tail," Vucic said.

Baltic States, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Croatia, and Bulgaria Oppose Opening Cluster 3

Regarding the news that EU member state ambassadors failed to reach an agreement today on opening Cluster 3 in Serbia's accession negotiations, Vucic said the matter would continue to be discussed next week.

He shared that the Baltic countries, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Croatia, and Bulgaria opposed the opening of Cluster 3.

"We'll see. We still have seven days. If they want it—fine. If not—thank you. I understand everything. Whenever someone else has to decide about us, you always hope to give it a chance," President Vucic stated.

On Opposition Demands for Vojvodina’s Autonomy

Regarding certain demands from the opposition for Vojvodina to gain independence, Vucic dismissed them as "crazy and nonsensical ideas."

"I know they have different dreams, but nothing will come of them. Vojvodina is part of Serbia, and not only does no one want what they are proposing, but Vojvodina is deeply attached to Serbia. The north of Serbia is profoundly connected to the integrity of its homeland. It’s laughable to even comment on such things," Vucic said.
