Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with Mexico's Ambassador to Belgrade, Carlos Felix Corona, thanking him for Mexico's principled position and its consistent support for respect for international law, as well as for its decision not to recognize the independence of Kosovo.

"We highly value such an approach and I am confident that we will continue to strengthen our political, economic, cultural and all other forms of cooperation of mutual interest," Vucic said.

Vucic and Ambassador Corona discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, current geopolitical developments, and opportunities for further enhancing cooperation.

"It is particularly gratifying that this year we are marking the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Mexico—a significant milestone that bears witness to our longstanding friendship, mutual respect and partnership, which we are committed to further developing," Vucic stated.

He added that he hopes there will soon be an opportunity for an exchange of high-level visits, which would provide additional impetus to the further advancement of bilateral relations.
