Vucic: Pristina officially violates the Washington Agreement; Belgrade's response tonight after the Government session
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that by applying for EU membership today, Pristina would officially violate the Washington Agreement and that Belgrade's response would be announced tonight after the Government session, RTS reports.
"Today they are officially violating the Washington Agreement, and we will respond to all of that, tonight, after the Government session to which I was invited regarding our demands related to the UN Resolution 1244, but also for the withdrawal of recognition of many countries. You will receive a precise answer," Aleksandar Vucic said in response to the question regarding the submission of Pristina's application for EU membership, as well as when Serbia would announce which countries had withdrawn recognition of Kosovo's independence.
When asked if there was progress in the situation in Kosovo, Vucic said that he had spoken with European and American representatives yesterday and that there were some ideas.
"We will see whether we will succeed. The situation is complicated, but we will do our best to preserve peace and stability," Vucic said during a tour of the Kelebija-Tompa border crossing.
