President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, during which he emphasized that Serbia greatly values its strong strategic partnership with Italy, one of Serbia’s most important political and economic partners in the EU.

“In a cordial and constructive conversation with Giorgia Meloni, we exchanged views on the most important issues for the Western Balkans region, as well as on concrete steps that will lead to the strengthening of our mutual cooperation and the upcoming Expo exhibition, where Italy has confirmed its participation — which I see as a strong message of friendship and partnership,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

Vucic thanked Italy for its principled and continuous support of Serbia’s European integration process.

“Serbia deeply appreciates its strong strategic partnership with Italy, one of our most important political and economic partners in the EU. Prime Minister Meloni once again confirmed that Italy remains committed to further EU enlargement and to supporting the Western Balkan countries on that path,” he added.

He extended an invitation to Meloni to visit Serbia.
