Vucic with Meloni: We hope that Italy will have a greater role in solving Serbia's problems

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today with the Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, who is on a one-day visit to Serbia. In a statement to the media after their one-on-one talks, Vucic expressed gratitude to Italy for its genuine support for Serbia on its European path.
"I want to express immense gratitude to the Prime Minister for visiting Serbia. Serbia and Italy have extremely good economic relations, with our trade turnover amounting to 4.6 billion euros, and I believe our cooperation can be even greater in the future", Vucic said.
He added that he was thankful for Italy's support for Serbia.
"I am grateful for the substantial and persistent support from Italy on Serbia's European path, and for Giorgia Meloni always finding time to listen to what Serbia has to say, not taking a unilateral approach to regional issues", Vucic stated.
He especially expressed gratitude for efforts to resolve crises in the Western Balkans, emphasizing that Italy took an objective stance.
"We hope that Italy will have an even greater role in solving the key issues of our country and our people. We believe that the Prime Minister of Italy is one of the great leaders, not only European but also global, with a magnificent political talent", Vucic added.
He noted that the company "Stellantis" could be a generator of many investments, as it represents even a quarter of total investments in Serbia.
"I pointed out that Italy objectively and substantively approaches the resolution of problems in our region. Once again, I express great gratitude for being here with us in Belgrade", Vucic concluded.
