Vucic: We appreciate that Romania maintains its position of not recognizing Kosovo

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, had a conversation today with the President of the Romanian Parliament's Chamber of Deputies, Alfred Robert Simonis, and emphasized that Belgrade appreciated the fact that Bucharest, despite pressures, firmly adhered to its position of respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

The interlocutors noted that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Romania were characterized by good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and mutual understanding between the two peoples, as stated in the press release from the Office of the President of Serbia.

While discussing European integration, Vucic expressed his gratitude for Romania's support on Serbia's European path.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, Simonis, stated that his country remained firmly committed to respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

"The two interlocutors emphasized the importance of infrastructure connectivity between Serbia and Romania, which includes, among other things, the construction of a highway between Pancevo and Timisoara, as well as work on energy connectivity," the press release stated.

Vucic posted on Instagram, expressing appreciation for Bucharest's support regarding the non-recognition of Kosovo and the continuation of the dialogue.

"We highly appreciate the fact that Romania, despite strong pressures, continues to firmly maintain its position of not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of so-called Kosovo. We are grateful for the support we receive from Bucharest for our progress on our European path and the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, based on the responsible approach of all involved," he noted.
