Serbia highly appreciates the Republic of Togo's support in preserving Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity per the norms of international law, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic pointed out today in a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Diaspora of Togo, Robert Dussey, who conveyed that his country had a firm position in the matter of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared Kosovo independence.

As stated in the press release delivered to the media, Vucic expressed his delight with Minister Dussey's visit as an exceptional opportunity to consider possibilities for intensifying cooperation between the two countries, which was bound by traditional and sincere friendship.

"Our country is committed to fostering the best relations with African countries, based on mutual respect and understanding," President Vucic emphasized and asked Minister Dussey to extend an invitation to the president of the Republic of Togo to visit Serbia.

Minister Dussey said that Togo had a firm position in not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

Speaking about economic cooperation, the interlocutors agreed that there was room for its strengthening, as well as for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, military industry, construction, health, information technology, science, culture, and education.
