Serbs from the municipality of Gracanica departed for Belgrade after midnight to show their support to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, at the "Serbia of Hope" gathering.

A large number of residents from this municipality gathered last night at the square in front of the former "Vocara" building, from where they continued their journey to Belgrade.

Serbs from Gracanica, as well as from surrounding areas, expressed before their departure that this was just a small gesture of gratitude to the President of Serbia for everything he has been doing for the Serbian people in Kosovo for years.

Stefan Stojanovic from Dobrotin stated that unity is crucial and expressed hope that the state of Serbia would continue to fight for the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"We are going to the gathering to support our President, Aleksandar Vucic. Unity and harmony are more necessary than ever before. The Serbian people have never faced greater difficulties, not only in the north of Kosovo and Metohija but also in the south. We hope that the President, as he has been so far, will stand by our side. We are aware that only with his help can we survive in Kosovo and Metohija," Stojanovic said.

Among those who set off for Belgrade is Ivan Nedeljkovic from Laplje Selo, who stated that the reason for his attendance at the "Serbia of Hope" gathering is to support Serbia in difficult times.

"We are going to show our support and express gratitude to the President, to demonstrate that we are with him and will always be," Nedeljkovic said.

Jelena Stojanovic from Gracanica conveyed that today is an important day, a day of hope.

"I am glad that we have come in large numbers. The buses are full of people, and everyone is in good spirits. Tomorrow is a day of hope, and we set off to show our support to our President, Aleksandar Vucic," she said.

In addition to those who set off last night from Serbian communities in Kosovo for the gathering in Belgrade, a group of Serbs started their journey on foot from Leposavic and Kosovsko Pomoravlje on May 17th.

They were received by the President of Serbia, who expressed his pride because, as he stated, they were safeguarding their homes and homeland.
