Vujicic: The terror of Kurti continues – The Serbs want peace, it is the turn of the international community to act

Danijela Vujicic, the coordinator of the Management Team for the establishment of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, said today that the Kosovo Serbs did not give up their demands, which they were fighting for peacefully, but that the most important thing was what Pristina and the international community would do.

"Today is the eighth day of the crisis in the north of the province; the people are still in Zvecan, in large numbers. We expect things to be resolved peacefully. We are for peace, but it is fundamentally important what Pristina and the international community will do. The Serbian people will not give up on their demands, we will be persistent to fulfill all the demands we have put before the international community and Pristina," Vujicic said for Tanjug.

She reminded that the demands were clear - the withdrawal of all ROSU units from the north of Kosovo, the release, as she said, of the kidnapped fellow citizens, Dusan Obrenovic and Rados Petrovic, and the withdrawal of "fake, container mayors" from the municipalities in the north.

She stated that the situation was calm and there were no incidents.

To questions regarding the condition of Obrenovic and Petrovic, and whether it is true that Dusan Obrenovic was mistreated, she answered affirmatively, which, she says, was also said by his lawyer.

"That's right, according to his lawyer, he was beaten. They were ordered to be detained for up to 30 days. They were practically kidnapped, videos on social networks show that they didn't attack anyone, they were literally dragged into the area where the Special Forces are located. At one point, they also wanted to drag Igor Simic in... People are completely innocent, but we are used to it. Here, people are tried without evidence, they are imprisoned by force. Our fellow citizens are, by God's justice, in prison right now, just because they have Serbian names and surnames," Vujicic said.

She pointed out that Albin Kurti's terror continued and that she did not believe that even the strongest slap he received with the introduction of US sanctions would stop him, because, she said, even though America had finally started to discipline its "child", that did not mean that it would change its policy towards Kosovo or its attitude towards independence.

Vujicic also said that there was resistance to Kurti from the opposition in Pristina.

"He has a big problem in Pristina, but if he continues like this, I don't think he will withdraw ROSU units," Vujicic stated.

As she says, Kurti's madness continues and it’s the turn of the international community to act.

"But there are also those in the international community who constantly speak and call for both sides to calm down. The Serbs are peaceful; they express their protest peacefully, their dissatisfaction defending their doorstep and democracy, freedom of movement, and basic human rights that have been taken away from us here. The Serbs in Kosovo are now the bulwark of preserving European democracy," Vujicic concluded.
