The Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Artan Grubi, stated that events and iconography like yesterday's, where the flag of "Greater Albania" had been raised again at the rally of the Besa Movement of Bilall Kasami, were unnecessary, stressing that they would not bring good to either Albanians or Macedonians, RTV 21 reports.
Grubi also points out that it is especially not good to do such things when a high-ranking US State Department official like Gabriel Escobar is visiting.
"In yesterday's event, we saw unnecessary iconography that does not aim to bring good to the Albanians or Macedonians; it is especially not good when a high-ranking guest from the State Department comes to the country to support the European integration of our country," Grubi said.
He also says that waving the flag of "Greater Albania" should not distract attention from important issues in North Macedonia.
"They are a small party with big complexes, so I think neither the institutions nor the media should deal with them, but they are looking for their space with such gestures," Grubi said.
