Citizens of Leposavic at a protest with a yellow ribbon around their arm
Several citizens of Leposavic at today's protest put on their hands a yellow ribbon with a Star of David, which is a symbol of the suffering of Jews in the Second World War and life in the ghetto.
As they say, they wanted to point out the suffering of the Serbs in Kosovo. They sat right next to the reinforced barbed wire, only to retreat into the mass of people. The yellow ribbons are also on the barbed wire with which KFOR members protected the area around the municipal building.
The citizens of Leposavic are still peacefully protesting today and demanding the release of the citizens of northern Kosovo who were arrested in Zvecan on Monday, but also that the Albanian mayors and Special Forces of the Kosovo Police leave the municipal buildings in the north of Kosovo. A large number of citizens gathered in front of the municipality building.
KFOR members are securing the municipal building in Leposavic, and around 5 o'clock this morning, they additionally secured the area with barbed wire. Behind the KFOR soldiers are still armored vehicles of special units of the Kosovo Police.
Today, KFOR allowed the director of the Center for Social Work, Gradimir Nastic, to take the official car that was literally trapped in the circle where KFOR soldiers are located, additionally surrounded by barbed wire. The Dacia Duster car is parked in the municipal area after working hours and is used for the needs of social services, and it was trapped there after the protests began.
After opening the gate, the KFOR soldiers helped to take the car and received applause from the gathered citizens.
